Countdown to 2009

2008 started with a 5-hour transcontinental flight and lots of snow. Got burried in files of work soon after and became obsessed with the idea of quitting. Saw folks 2 years after leaving home. Travelled to Texas to be with friends and ended up being with hundreds of people all of whom were craning their necks for a better view of the July 4th fireworks. Came back with an exorbitant purchase and a curse that was to haunt me months later. Left the beautiful university town for a slightly bigger one, nearer the City. Played house for a while until sober second thought dictated otherwise. Started an affair with a dream that is still far from reality. Finally closed a chapter in our story and began a new one. A city was ravaged and heroes emerged. Got haunted by 3 numbers, and rematch was sought. Faced the same disappointment and now fighting to keep the hope alive.

It was fulfilling, disappointing, vibrant, monotonous, violent, calm, intresting and dull. Cheers, 2008!
